Mark Wahlberg, A Real American Hero

Will Mark Wahlberg play Duke in the upcoming G.I. Joe live-action travesty? Sings point to yes. When asked about possibly starring as the leader of the Joes, Mark Wahlberg replied:

You know what, I’ll do whatever Lorenzo wants me to do; it really depends on the script, obviously, but it’s a cool idea. He says it’s going to be kick ass, so yeah. But he’s already putting that out there, so who knows. He knows how to get me to say ‘yes.’

Of course, the big question is whether or not the live-action version will adhere to the standards of the cartoon. The bad guys shoot blue lasers while the Joes shoot red lasers and COBRA pilots always eject before their planes explode. People get shot but no one dies. And every episode ends with a lesson because knowing is half the battle.

When will the madness END?

That would make more sense to me because red is usually associated with the bad guys, but I checked a few clips on YouTube and the Joes be shooting red.

Hmmm, a GI Joe live action movie. They should flip the sript on the veiwing audience and use the original Joes and not the 80s version.

You do realize that as long as there are 80s/90s fan boys out there as producers and writers, there will be a live action version of all our childhood shows. I mean there still hasn’t been the live action Thundercats or Silverhawks. Plus if there’s a Transformers movie then there has to be a live action Go-bots too. Everybody has to get their chance to make a movie of that story they came up with while playing with the action figures.

Please spare me the live action ‘Smurf’ news.

It isn’t hard to design a kick ass wardrobe for G.I Joe. Hell, here’s the only chance we’ll get to see Stormshadow and Snake Eyes on the big screen together. How can you pass that up?

Baroness will be SEXY as hell. And SCARLETT Mmmmmm. As much as people hate Michael Bay, I really wish he would take on this one after Transformers.

The guy makes sexy action films. Plain and Simple. All he needs to do is throw in some hot babes and some jaw dropping action and I’ll bring my ass into the theater for it.

DOOOD! I totally forgot about Baroness! She was always my favorite!

Okay, so maybe there will be aspects of this thing that could be fun to watch.
