Thundercats Are On the Loose

Transformers, G.I. Joe, and He-Man will all be heading to the silver screen fairly soon. So it comes as no surprise to learn that Thundercats will join the party. The latest live-action adaptation of an 80’s cartoon will center on Lion-O’s coming of age as the leader of the Thundercats.

The only difference between a live-action Thundercats and the musical Cats is less singing. I suppose prosthetics have come a long way since Heston faced off against those damn dirty apes. Beast looked pretty decent in that last X flick so who knows. However, Bruce Lee is dead which makes the casting of Panthro dubious. No one can swing a chuck like Bruce. I’d be satisfied if Tony Jaa was cast as Panthro, but anything less will not hold my interest.

Okay, maybe if Scarlett Johansson was Cheetara I might pay money to see it.

I swear, if no one makes a Silver Hawks movie at this point, I’ll be fucking pissed. All that’s left is M.A.S.K., Pole Position, Jayce and the Wheel Warriors, Robotix, Jem (oh weird, that would be so weird)… I should stop now before my brains leak out of my nostrils.

I think Panthro should be played by a “brotha”. His character always struck me as such and while I recognize Tony’s fighting skills, I don’t think he could pull off a Panthro IMHO.

You forgot about the Go-Bots. No childhood redux is complete without the Go-Bots. Oh, and Centurians. They haven’t even scratched the surface of the ’80s cartoon goldmine.

…..Jem the movie…that would be truely outrageous…truely truely truely outrageous (I couldn’t resist, lol)

Actually, yeah! Panthro should probably be Black. Yeah, I said it. He was always my favorite. The language barrier would make him less pimp if Tony Jaa was there, but the fighting skills would be awesome. So we need a Black Tony Jaa.

OH! Michael Lashly from WWE! HAHAHA! That’d be awesome!

It’d probably be pretty bad, but I’d go to see a Silverhawks movie. I loved that show.

Damn, I’d forgotten a bout Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. Used to watch that back in the day. Even had a few of the toys.

I think I might be ill. I damn near drove off the road when I heard. Ugh.

    HELL YEAH! Silverhawks ruled.

Actually I can see why they would make a GI Joe movie. It’s not for the toys, it’s for the military recruitment. What did you never see in GI Joe? Blood and people dying. For the generations of up and coming future target practice for insurgents, what a better way to market the military! The recent war films have been shocking brutal and morbid. Well it’s time to fluff up more sheep by wooing them with the temptation that the armed forces are united (really, Shipwreck was Navy and looked like the poster boy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”)

In the words of Jem — Truly, truly, truly outrageous! (did we ever need more than one truly?)

A thunderCats Movie will be great if they come with a strong storyline and good graphics…there are already amazing characters with these super skills that I admired back in the day and I still think that todays younger audience will admire them too….I never expected Transformers to be that good but they proved me wrong….the storyline was good and the characters didnot disappoint…so I have hope whomever will be making this flim will take it very seriously and do a great job….I think Tony Jaaa would be a better Tygra….BATISTA from the WWE would make a great Panthro…. but i guess voice over will definitely have to come into play hehehehhe Lion O i dunno thas a hard one Chetara hard one to willy kid and Kat a toss up….
