Hollywood Takes a Giant Dump on the Holidays

Before I talk about the Bot flick, reader Kevin Bahrt snapped me some pics of some upcoming pieces of shit set to smell up the holiday season. I shall now provide captions for said pictures.

Oh Cuba. If Eddie passes on the sequel, that should be half a hint for your ass to stay the fuck away!

Ah, the movie that keeps on giving. Originally released in 1956, remade in 1978, 1994, and now, 2007! Let no good sci-fi film go untouched!

I heard an excellent theory yesterday that there is a mathematical relationship between large, red sans-serif fonts on white backgrounds on movie posters and the end of a movie star’s career.

    Say it ain’t so, Vince!

Since when was Alvin gangsta? No good can possible come of that chipmunks movie. I caught a preview of Underdog. I enjoyed the talking dog CGI in “Cats and Dogs”, but somehow I don’t see this working for Underdog. I mean where is he gonna keep his super energy pill when he doesn’t fingers for his ring?

As for the rest: No thanks.

Unfortunately they showed both Underdog and Daddy Day Camp trailers before Rattatouille when we saw it Friday night.

No good can come of this. If they had animated Underdog, then maybe. But it just looks so…. Mister Ed-ish.

I thought the trailer for The Invasion looks good. Plus Daniel Craig is in it, I’ll watch it just for that.

Ugh, Fred Claus? All I see is Vince Vaughn mugging it up for the camera. Freaking Santa Claus is old enough to be his father. This is a stupid concept for a movie that I believe, no doubt, would go on to make a shit load of money for no good reasons.

Ugh, Daddy Day Camp? Cuba has been over-acting since winning that dumb Oscar trophy. And his role in Jerry Macguire required very little skills. Tyrese Gibson could probably do just as good a job and probably land himself an Oscar too for it.

Cuba Gooding Jr is a hack and this movie proves it. I love how they had to put up that goofy disclaimer at the top of the poster with this bit of nugget: “From the studio that brought you ‘Daddy Day Care’ ” but then again, these audiences are probably THAT dumb to begin with.
