Jami vs. Pomelo

This time I get down and dirty with my very first pomelo! I think I got a not so ripe one. Is there an easy way to tell when they’re ripe? Do they get deeper green or something?

That’s actually how Pomelo is supposed to be. It’s skin is ALWAYS that thick/tough. My teacher brought some in for us once, and they are always like that. I’m not sure if there’s truly a way to tell if it’s ripe or not, but I know they are tasty. And if you consider the “green taste” as what I’m assuming, then that’s just the flavor of the pomelo. Oh and might I say, shock and awe that you found something cheaper some where other than Whole Foods… did my sarcasm stick to that sentence? |

Please to be reporting the location of the 24 hour Harris Teeter. http://www.VeryLate.com/submit.html I didn’t even know there were Harris Teeters that far north. |

Is it just me or does that thing look smaller than a grapefruit after the skin’s peeled off? |

Whole Foods is always more expensive in my experience, but their deli, fruits and meats are first rate and worth the extra cost. Harris Tetter comes in a close second on cost I think. They just moved into the Alexandria, VA area this past year. Maybe I can find a Pomelo there. GIANT isn’t coming through for me, lol. BTW was that a Ginsu(sp) you were using? |
