It was shown onscreen that another Terminator was unable to identify Cameron as a known model. Maybe she was created by the resistance side to be a custom model. Would make sense, if one side has tanks, what do you go, make bigger or better tanks. Similarly, if one side has an Arnold-Bot, you bring out Glau-Bot. Anyway, all I'm hoping is that they avoid something like Data's "I am fully functional and programmed in multiple techniques" scenes.

(Im)plausible theory after watching "The Turk", where it is shown that Sarah has no risk factors for cancer (yes, I know you can still get it, but it would be illogical to put it there if not for the plot): T3 is the result of Terminators going back in time and causing Sarah's cancer in 1997 (yeah, I know a little far fetched). Then again this isn't being written by Joss so I doubt that they are writing for three seasons ahead.

I really think that there is something that is big about Cameron and her John knowledge... maybe he sent her back so that his little love bot could meet mommy? :P

AHA! It makes more sense than I thought it did.

BTW, does it seem creepy to anyone else that Cameron Philips knows so much intimate information about John Connor? I guess John Connor would program her with all that stuff so she could convince Sarah that she's legit, but it's still a little creepy.

It actually makes some sense. I don't think there was a change occurring in T1 but T2 pushed back judgment day and T3 saw a large number of the generals get killed. Wouldn't it make sense for John to send back a Terminator to save his mom? And if the Terminators send back an army they would probably be too much to cover up and then research into AI would stop for fear of the terminators coming about. Humans have to initiate judgment day so that causality stays the same.

The time jump basically gets rid of T3, since Sarah Connor never dies from cancer in 2005.
