The Eyes of the Ranger Are Upon You

Walker, Texas Ranger

Reader S.Blue sent me a link to a story about some jackass who stole $130,000 from Chuck Norris’ Kick Drugs Out of America Foundation. James D. Brasher pleaded guilty to one count of uttering a forged security.

James, James, James, didn’t you listen to the lyrics?

In the eyes of a ranger,
The unsuspecting stranger,
Had better know the truth of wrong from right,

‘Cause the eyes of a ranger are upon you,
Any wrong you do, he’s gonna see,

When you’re in Texas, look behind you,

‘Cause that’s where the rangers gonna be.

Brasher faces up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, a supervised release term of three years, and a swift Texas Ranger kick in the ass.

Chuck Strikes Back

In an unrelated story, on December 21, 2007 Chuck Norris sued Ian Spector, a Brown University junior, for publishing The Truth About Chuck Norris: 400 Facts About the World’s Greatest Human. Spector is responsible for the Chuck Norris Random Fact Generator website and arguably the revival of Chuck’s career.

Okay, sure, he’s got those amazing Total Gym infomercials and you can buy Walker Texas Ranger on DVD. But no Presidential candidate would trot Chuck out for an endorsement on the strength of Walker alone. Those awesome factoids have made Chuck relevant again.

Chuck is suing for unjust enrichment and privacy rights. The trial is ongoing.
