Land of the Lost Should Stay Lost

Monday, February 4th, 2008 at 1:59 pm by Jami

Will Ferrell is set to star opposite Anna Friel in a movie adaptation of Land of the Lost. Sid and Marty Krofft, the producers of the original show, will produce this adaptation.

This is a pretty dumb idea and at least thirty years too late. However, there’s no denying the coolness of the Sleetaks. Observe the clip from Robot Chicken!

Still, Sleestaks do not a movie make. And as funny as I think Will Ferrell can be given certain circumstances, no one gives a crap about Land of the Lost. There’s no buzz on this show and the generation who remember it probably won’t care for a modern interpretation. The target for this is probably still kids, in which case they’ll probably see anything with dinosaurs. But seriously, no good can come from this.

Well, it could be worse. It could be titled Sleestaks in the Hood.

there was a slightly more modern version of it in the 90’s. It was slightly more watchable than the original 70’s version. Maybe it will get better as it’s remade, like an anti-thesis of remakes?
