Will The Real Captain America Please Stand Up?

The Real Captain America

Okay, why does Bucky appear to be wielding an WWII styled German Ruger Luger? No wonder Steve is pissed! If you’re gonna carry a pistol, at least carry American made! Must be an artist privilege thing because all of Alex Ross’s designs depict Bucky with a 9mm Browning or something similar (my gun geekery is a little weak so I apologize in advance if I got this all wrong).

Anywho, I thought this one would be good for a caption game. And remember folks, dead doesn’t mean shit in comics.

UPDATE: Ah! I knew my gun-fu was off. Thanks Wayne for the Ruger, Luger correction.

That’s Luger, not Ruger. Ruger is an American gun manufacturer. My gun-fu is strong, though dated.

“Are you there God? It’s me, Bucky. Oh shit, God?”

    or

“James will soon learn that Charles Dicken’s Ghost of Christmas Past comes in many shapes and forms. He will also find that soon after seeing the Ghost, Bucky will be slapped around silly for using imported weapons. Let’s watch.”

The gun commonly referred to as the Browning is the Browning High Power which is 9mm. The side arm of WWII is also a Browning invention it’s called the 1911 it fires a .45 ACP round. John Moses Browning was the god of weapon design in the early 20th century he is also responsible for the .50 BMG (Browning Machine Gun) round which is used in his M2 machine gun.

Sorry for two postings but I just thought of this one:

“Damn, when Captain America plays Hide-and-Go-Seek he plays to WIN!”

“That’s one heck of a nuclear fart there, Faux Capt’n… Almost peeled the paint of my shield…”

And when will artists learn how to compose a picture in a way that avoids putting one character’s head on another character’s crotch? Really now?
