Last Starfighter

Name and/or Alias: Kurt a.k.a SamuraiArtGuy

Location: Hudson Valley, NY

Occupation: Graphic and Web Designer, ocassional Zen Shaman Drumsinger

Website/blog: http://www.fantastic-realities.com | http://samuraiartguy.livejournal.com

Top five favorite movies: Original “Star Wars”, “The Matrix”, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, entire Harry Potter series to date, “Klll Bill 1 & 2″ (OMG total guilty pleasure and Uma is TEH HO7 w a bad-ass blade ), and the obscure but totally cool, “Blade of the Ninja” (orig. “The Challenge” in theatres ) w Scott Glenn and Toshiro Mifune. Slice! Slice! sushi!!! And “The Princess Bride” is just too sweet for words. Wait, that’s like, seven?

Worst movie you’ve ever seen, ever: Deepstar Six, my wife even walked out of this POS. And Star Wars I-III for the betrayal of the fans and the mythology, and some of the WORST scripts in SF/Fantasy filmmaking. George, how could you spend $475,987 on cutting edge CG and about $19.95 on writers? Let’s not forget “Star Trek V: The Final Frontier” Man, that HURT the franchise.

Best shitty movie you’ve ever seen: OMfrakkingGODS.. SOOOOO many.. But a soft spot for “Battle Beyond the Stars” and “The Last Starfighter” oh oh wait.. so bad it’s poetry, “Master of the Flying Guillotine” That was insanely weird.

If you were forced to make a remake of a classic film or 80’s property, what would you pick? OMG Frakkin GUNDAM

Where do you prefer to watch your movies, IMAX, theater, computer, television, or iPod? First hit, Theatre w My Pdawans, widescreen. dark w popcorn for teh awesom3. But DVDs growing on us. Since paying $18 clams for a shitty movie tightens the colon.

Favorite movie moment: There’s lots but who doesn’t love “My name is Indio Montoya. You keeled my fatheer. Preepar to die.”

Top five favorite comics/webcomics: Megatokyo, Applegeeks, PVP, Control-Alt-Delete, Onezumi, Penny Arcade, Sluggy Freelance, Questionable Content… the list shifts… Oh yes, AZM when it was a comic.. and some Erf thing I found out there… And lately got turned on to Dirk Tiede’s “Paradigm Shift”

Comic/webcomic you’d like to see as a movie: I am actually afraid to answer this, If I open my face, hollywood will PROMPLY FUCK UP on one of my boyhood faves with a rain of FRAK. (whispers… “Watchmen” maybe Cerebus the Arrdvark animated - anime style, not CG’d to death )

Favorite artist: Vinvent Van Goh, Paul Gauguin, Rembrant, Neal Adams, Jack Kirby, Micheal Whealan, Kelly Freas, Will Eisner. .. and a cast of thousands…

Favorite writer: Spider Robinson (aw3som3) , John Ringo (Kick-a55)

What’s worse, Clone Wars or One More Day? One More Day, WTF? I won’t spend money to read the damn thing…

Floppies, trade paper backs, digital downloads, or webcomics? All of it.. BRING IT. Well, maybe not floppies anymore, most of my FILES are larger than 1.4 MB.

Favorite comic moment: The total mindfuck in DC’s Identity Crisis. And some doozys in Cerebus The Arrdvark

Mac or PC? Mac for the most part. Will use PCs for web site validation. Curse IE to death!

Henshin device: Katana, or wacom tablet…

Battle cry: Banzai! or “Design, Baby!” “Move all Viper for great justice” (mind you, my younger son has picked up “Spoon!”, “Spam!” and “Spleen!!” Kid’s weirder than ME, and that’s just disturbing.

Mighty finisher: the aw3som3 Kesa-Giri katanat cut. Or Cmd-DELETE… LOL

How did you discover the Angry Zen Master? Linked from Onezumi, I think.
