Honda Duped By Skynet Into Developing Motorized Walking Assistant

Skynet must have inside agents working at Honda. They’ve developed the motorized Walking Assist Device, a motorized walker that you wear like a belt. The 6 lb. device senses how much aid the wearer will need and power assists the user’s stride to make walking easier. Honda believes this device will give greater mobility to the elderly.

This is how it starts, people. Oh sure, it’s only a cute little belt with a two hour lithium-ion battery charge. Next it’s going to be full robotic legs to do the walking for you. Hell, why even bother walking when a robotic assistant can fetch what you need.

Skynet, robotizing our elderly obsolete one limb at a time.

    Skynet? SKYNET?!?! At least humans had a chance against Skynet… I’m more afraid of Sentinels and The Birthing Fields and being made into an Energizer battery a la The Matrix!

    Ooh, I smell a Super Geek War idea… Skynet vs the Matrix… or Cylons… bleh why do all the robots hate us?!

    All kidding aside, that walking assist DOES look pretty cool! It’d be interesting to see if they could develop full-sized legs for amputees with the same motion assist and sensing tech.

    It’s all fun and games until someone mods it to do a Rider Kick.

    I’m waiting for Ford and GM to start making their own versions of this stuff. walking assists with a HEMI. The possibilities…..

    Does it only work at a walking pace? If it could help me run faster I’d be down for this bad boy!
