But everything that I hear from people who were into comics before me, and based on the recent (over the last 15-20 years) Stan Lee, I can't say that I'm terribly impressed. To me, it seems like his gift is in making characters of amazing potential, but it takes other writers to truly make those characters come alive. I enjoy Who Wants To Be A Superhero, but I have trouble placing him high in the pantheon of comic writers. Others -- Byrne, Clairmont, Miller, Moore, Romita -- have done much more to advance story-telling and develop characters and would rate higher in the pantheon for me as they were building on a lot of things that Stan the Man created. I can't say I was too impressed with issue 0. Maybe it'll get better. Am I the only who think Stan Lee maybe a little off his rocker? I mean aside from the who wants to be a superhero show, I could totally see him doing something like what happened in the manga in real life. Someone needs to check his basement...
