Steppin Up to Miley Cyrus

Reader Psicodelic Madness sent me some videos of the Biggest Online Dance Battle in the History of Man Kind! Jon M. Chu, director of Step Up 2 the Streets, and Step Up 2 the Streets star Adam Sevani challenged Miley Cyrus (never thought that name would show up on AZM) and Mandy Jiroux to an online dance battle. Jon and Adam assembled the ACDC, Adam/Chu Dance Crew, and issued the challenge.

Miley and Mandy heard the challenge and assembled their M&M crew for a response.

But wait! There’s more.

ACDC returns with allstar recruits Adam Sandler, Chris Brown, Diana Ross, and Lindsay Lohan. Well, three out of four ain’t bad.

When your dance video has diva Diana Ross, you fucking win. How can you beat that? What, Jonas brothers attack? Blech.

Fun battle. I hope they keep going. You know, this almost makes me want to start my own battle. Like an art battle. Against an opponent who’s already beaten me. Like an opponent who frees hoods from ghosts. And we could battle at, say, the Ottobar. On June 1st. And we could call it, Art Fight!

Wouldn’t that kick all sorts of crunchy pants ass!

    You know… I have to say that things like this really make me really appreciate Disco in the 70s. Back then I would have to say there was more class and style involved.

    I’m all for expressing culture via dance, it’s been happening for millenniums, but it’s become so commercial, shameless and self promoting that they seem more like fashion tools than people with cultural expression.
