SD Gundam MMORPG!

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 at 10:55 am by Jami

Holy shit! Blue Destiny kicks some major ass.

I don’t have much info on this, but there’s an SD Gundam MMORPG, something from Netmarble. This is probably the only way to get me to try an MMORPG. Unfortunately, it’s in Korean. It might be fun to just sign up and muddle through it, but I suspect there’s money involved. If it ever comes out in English, I’m totally freaking there!

    Arizona desert FTW!

I love chibi Gundams. I was so sad that SD Gundam Force’s dub was so bad.

Me thinks it’s more like Pokemon than an MMORPG. Twould be cool to be able to be able to get SD Gundam from a vending machine then link them up online via RFID or something. Seems possible if that isn’t what they are doing already. We have a few games like this in the US that you can buy in stores but I don’t think they have the in depth online quality that the SD Gundam video shows.

if this were to come out over here, I would probably die of happiness, but most gundam games haven’t been coming to the us. case in point: MS sensen 0079 for the wii, mobile suit gundam: one year war and climax UC for the ps2, lost war chronicles, and all the sd gundam g-generation games. so I’m cautiously optimistic.

Since it’s Netmarble, it’s like a ‘free to play, with optional items available for purchase in the ‘item shop’ ‘ style game. Most Korean MMOs are.

A wii gundam game? As in I could swing a beam sword or beam rifle around? WHY DID THEY NOT BRING IT OVER?! Is blue destiny the song? Which series is it from?

the blue destiny is a modified GM unit originally from a saturn game released only in japan. it’s the all blue unit that wrecks stuff with it’s hands. it also has a manga retelling of the game storyline, only the first vol was translated by tokyopop and released in the U.S. . all 3 blue destiny units and a heavily modified efreet MS included the experimental EXAM system which was similar to the zero system from wing. and yeah I’m upset bout sensen 0079 too.

@Pocky, freaking sweet! Now I just gotta figure out how to sign up.

I have that first Blue Destiny manga. Pretty neat idea. Wish there was more translated that I could pick up.

Actually, what I really want is a sequel to Gundam Dynasty Warriors. I don’t care if they stick more alternate century Gundams in it, I want to play more mobile suits!!

You will likely need to find someone with either a 1) Korean social security number (sorry, not me, I’ve only got a US citizenship) or 2) a Korean cell phone number.

Different companies have different ways of preventing non-Korean citizens from playing.

And Gundam Musou/Dynasty Warriors 2 is likely in the pipe, it seemed to do reasonably well.

If your looking for a gundam-like game with multiplayer capability look at “Bootfighter Windom XP SP-2″(yes thats the name). Has beam sabers, multi-missiles, energy weapons, quite a few different mechs and weps.

It’s been created by a japanese programmer YSK and been translated, with permission, into english by mirrormoon. It’s basically an arena game with you vs other mecha in a variety of modes. Mulitplayer is server based, so you need to find a server to play on, pretty sure there is a list on the mirrormoon forums.

Played a bit and its quite fun, would be better if i had a proper joystick for it, or a set of those dual virtual-on sticks.

    http://mirrormoon.org/projects/windom is the link
