Art Fight Dry Run

Over the weekend, Nick and I combined powers to give the Art Fight a dry run. Marty was there to record the carnage for posterity and has posted a number of photos from the night over at Dead of Summer. We hashed out the rules for the event. If we end up doing more of these, we’re calling it the “Six Shooter” or maybe “Art Fight Six Shooter” or something to that effect.
- Artists must each incorporate six items chosen by audience members into their piece.
- The first item must be used as an attack on the opponent’s piece.
- The second item must be used as a defense.
- The following four items can be used in a manner determined by the artist.
- Six items for each artist will be chosen before the battle begins by audience members from a hat.
- The items will be revealed in ten minute intervals and written on a list for the artists to see.
In our test run, we completed our piece well within sixty minutes. I imagine with a larger canvas, it will take slightly longer on site. Along with the live art battle, we will be giving away prizes. Nick’s collected quite a few secret goodies to hand out and I have amassed a rather sizable collection of robot themed toys from a certain site that I will be parting with. We’re still working on the streaming angle. If we get the okay, I will post more information about that so if you can’t make the show or live in another state or country, you will still be able to witness it live. Even if we can’t stream, we will be taping the madness and will post it up later.
It’s going to be mad amounts of fun!
June 1st. Baltimore. Ottobar. Doors open at 8pm, show starts at 9pm. Be there!
