Dawn of the 3D Dead

Finally! A remix I can get into!
New Amsterdam Entertainment is re-releasing George A. Romero’s Dawn of the Dead as a 3D stereoscopic release. Dawn of the Dead on freaking IMAX people (crossing fingers)! 3D company In-Three will use its “dimensionalization” process to convert the 2D film to 3D within the year (October release perhaps?).
Of course, now the problem will be finding a theater that projects in 3D. There are no showtimes for the IMAX Speed Racer near me and options were extremely limited when Superman Returns was released in 3D (a 3hr drive for a boring flick would have infuriated me). 3D projection doesn’t necessitate IMAX, but at least around me, the IMAX theaters are the only ones equipped to project in 3D. It’s going to take some time before more theaters adopt this technology, but as the quality of home theaters keep improving, traditional theaters will have to adopt 3D to get asses in the seats.
Hopefully some theater near me (and you) will play this 3D version of Dawn of the Dead.
