SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! LIVE AT THE OTTOBAR, ART FIGHT!

*ahem*

Sorry about that.

Anyway, Art Fight is coming up and we could use your help. Our overall theme is fighting robots, but according to our rules, we must each incorporate six items chosen by audience members. This is where you, AZM readers, come in.

In the good old comments field, throw out some suggestions of completely random things for us to draw. Absolutely anything. We’ll compile your suggestions, throw them into a hat, and pick out six each on Sunday night. If your item is chosen from the bag, I’ll draw you a little robot that you can take home with you (I’ll ship anywhere in the world at no cost to you!). Sign in with your proper email address so I can contact you if your item is chosen. You have until Saturday midnight to submit ideas. One idea per reader. And remember, the more random the better!

If you can’t make it up to Baltimore Sunday night, we’ll be streaming live. And if you forget, we’ll be recording the stream. We’re upstairs at the OTTOBAR. It’s a free show, but you must be 21 or older. Doors open at 8pm and we’ll get the drawing started around 9pm. Angry Zen Master versus Ghostfreehood. There’s no excuse to miss it!

I have more than one idea, so you can choose your favorite to be put into the hat.

    Ninja Platypus
    Rhinos Playing Poker
Walking Boombox Carrying Singing R&B Artist on Shoulder
    Ramen in a Nalgene bottle
Roller Coaster of Death & Cute Pink Bunnies
Oprah on a Rocket Powered Bicycle

I think that’ll do for now.

I wish I could make it to this in person, but then there’s that whole living on the opposing end of the country to deal with.

    here’s some ideas:

    - Zombie Paris Hilton with a spike through her head
    - Barack-Zilla Vs. Mecha clinton
    - Drawing a caricature of the other artist in a compromising position (good for the attack piece)

Perhaps I should roll back my brain and add in some madness.
    Luchadore lawyers
Tom Brokaw using a pie chart as a weapon
Vikings with a fondness for ballet
    Katamari ball of lost souls
Abe Lincoln with an eye patch and pirate regalia
    Rick Astley
    Young Elvis as Luke Skywalker
    Jack Kirby, Nazi Fighter

Ooo! Ooo! I want to play!
    Bunny launching arm attachment
    Ace Pheonix in a tutu
    Spock with an AK
Lawn gnomes using their heads as grenades
    Johnny Quest being Force choked
Satan dressed like a Lady Bug

    I’m done.

Hmmm, I think it’d be hard to pick just one idea, as you indicated, but everyone else (for the most part) seems to be giving multiples so why not, eh? I really wish I could make it to this but A) I’m not 21 yet and B) I live on the left coast, and in Canada nonetheless! Anyway, here I go!

    Kamen Rider Hello Kitty
A Rube Goldberg machine that is drawing itself
Salvador Dali’s Persistence of Memory redrawn for the digital age

    I think that’s it for now…

Anything off-limits? As mentioned above, select your favorite.

An ostrich sticking its head in a hole that leads to a bathroom stall where [insert celebrity slutbucket of your choice] grabs it tightly around the neck, mouth open as if to begin sucking it. You know, because they’re a whore.

A little girl walking her pet, which happens to be a GIGANTINORMOUS SQUID, on a leash, in the city, at a bus stop, where it holds in the air with one of its massive tentacle appendages that douchebag on a segway that we all hate.

That part of your very own soul that died upon learning that George Lucas took the magic away from the Force when he introduced Midichlorians into the Star Wars lexicon.

    Afro Ninja failing

I could be here all day…that’s it though. I don’t want to break the internet with all my stupid.

[…] Over at Angry Zen Master, Jami is taking suggestions for topics for us to fight with. We need your help. So far there have been many very good suggestions. Don’t let that keep you from putting yours in the mix though. We want to hear from you. Jami is even giving away some Robot arts for your topics. This is an awesome opportunity for you to be involved with our art. An interactive experience for all indeed. […]

I have one suggestion… and if it gets pulled the owner of this piece of amazing will be the one true winner for a battling robots theme:
    SKY NET!
Any way… I think I have an okay excuse for missing this… even though I’m in the Baltimore area and will be a meager 14 miles or so away. Does “Defending general American Freedom, and way of life” count as a good excuse Jami? :P
Any way, I hope my suggestion gets pulled as the ultimate trump card! MUAHAHAHA!

I’m still “not deployable” because my wrist is all banged up!
But I keep an good eye on the guys who are out there!

[…] If you haven’t had a chance to toss up a suggestion for us, be sure to get your’s in before midnight tomorrow night. We’re drawing on six foot tall canvasses built by the fine folks at Morlock Enterprises so there will be a wall of art to fill. I’m almost certain we’re going to end up pulling more than just six suggestions each. There will be some additional art boards lying around so we may end up drawing things for people just hanging out. Might even be a custom toy or two thrown in the mix. I said epic, right? […]

[…] After they had been drawing for 15 or 20 minutes, they were stopped and the first two special features were drawn. These were things that had been suggested via comments and from folks in the room. The ideas were all written on cards and picked at random by people in the audience. The first up? Ghostfreehood had to attack Angryzenmaster with a kitten. Angryzenmaster had to attack with a rollercoaster of death and cute pink bunnies. After another 10-15 minutes they got another item to draw. Some of them were exceptionally funny, and all of them were drawn very well by both artists. This was repeated 6 times total, and then they were given about 20 minutes for final detailing and coloring. […]
