Jet Li Plus Michelle Yeoh Equals Jami in Theater

Fuck. I don’t want to see this movie. But now I have to.

The Mummy, Tomb of the Dragon Emperor has Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh which is yes. It stars Brendan Fraser which is no. But Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh outweigh Brenden Fraser. Of course, Dwayne Johnson outweighs Brendan Fraser yet The Mummy Returns was had copious amounts of no. However, I suspect that the yes of Li and Yeoh will outweigh the no of Fraser. So I will have to at least entertain thoughts of purchasing a ticket for this on purpose when it drops August 1.

    I have a bad feeling about this one. 3 movies might be stretching the series a little too far. Plus Rachel Weis is going to be in this one. Has potential bad movie written all over it.

    So much for Jet Li’s retirement… Hasn’t he done like four movies since then?

    Not that I’m mad at him, hell, if Hollywood threw millions of dollars at ME, I’d kick the crap out of stuntmen for a few months out of a year too!

    No no. Jet Li retired from martial arts epics, not movies entirely. There’s nothing epic about this Mummy thing.

    I feel for you Jami. I am a fan of the Li, but not that much. I think the entire premise of the movie is shmogus (smelly & bogus).

    This trailer only shows me one thing, that the Avatar movie element bending may be very awesome!
    I’m going to see this movie though, I liked the 1st and 2nd a lot.

    Keep in mind, D.Johnson was only in the intro to the second one, these two seem to be central and throughout.

    The trailer whet my appetite, I will see it.

    I will gladly download it illegally on my laptop instead of paying $10+ and having to get up and go somewhere to watch what will never make IMAX.

    You know, compared the the previous ones, this one looks slightly more promising. A new setting entirely, (but the same premise…ahh well). And it looks as though Fraser’s acting might have matured….slightly. I mean, it doesn’t look great, but it looks bearable.

    I liked the first one, it was unique. I seem to recall that I was *meh* on the second. I kind of liked Scorpion King because of The Rock. This one looks like fun, mainly because we get to see the proper application of modern military hardware against zombie armies. An inadequate amount of military hardware, but it should still be fun.
