Seth Rogen Is the Green Hornet

The Green Hornet
“Good work, Kato!”

So who’s Kato? Meh.

Seriously, does anyone give much of a shit that Seth Rogen is Brit Reed? I like Rogen just fine, but no one cares about Brit Reed. Okay, maybe if you’re a fan of the radio drama, Brit Reed is your Bruce Wayne. For the rest of us, we want Kato! Bruce Lee brought Kato to life and anything less than a martial arts phenom just won’t cut it. It should be called The Kato Show! The only reason The Green Hornet is even relevant is because of Bruce Lee.

My go to casting for Martial Arts action these days is always Tony Jaa. But I think Mark Musashi would make an excellent Kato. Brandon would have be absolutely perfect for the role. Too bad. Who would cast as Kato?

Rumors are that Stephen Chow is interested in producing, so I’d love to see Stephen Chow pull off Kato…

Trivia tidbit: when Green Hornet was exported to Lee’s native China, it was re-titled ‘The Kato Show’.

Saw it on the Biography episode that was centered on Bruce Lee.

You’re all nuts. It’s going to be Jonah Hill.

Something overheard at the production meeting of Green Hornet:

“I will refer to the executives as executive 1 and 2, and the potential licensors as PL 1, 2, and 3:

PL1: So who would play Kato?

Executive1: We’re thinking a Chinese actor, possibly Rain.

    PL2: Rain isn’t Chinese….

Executive1: No, I think he is (looks at Executive2 who is nodding in agreement)

    PL2: No, I’m actually positive he isn’t. He’s Korean.

Executive2: Well, he’s one of those. That’s just one option.

Executive1: The other option is, get ready, Will Smith!

PL3: Will Smith? Will Smith isn’t Asian.

Executive1: (Bursting with excitement) I know, that’s the twist!”
