Watchmen served as both a story in its own right but also a commentary on the status of comic book storytelling at the time. However, Jam and Greg, I think the only reason that there were no X nips, no Daredevil nips is BECAUSE of the fact that it was such a faux pas in comic movie history, and I think Snyder is touching on that with Ozymandias's costume, especially since Watchmen the movie is supposed to take place in the 80s like the graphic novel. They're taking us back in time to a day when the possibility of latex nipples might have been actually considered cool on a superhero's costume, especially for as arrogant a character as Ozymandias. How he has turned himself into a brand name and living toy commercial. Also, the photo of ozymandias that Snyder released is really desaturated. The actual costume is much more purple and gold.
