Trailer Haiku

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008 at 9:09 am by Jami

AZM reader Bart Bacon sent over a shit ton of trailers for The Day the Earth Stood Still, Mutant Chronicles, Knowing, Bolt, Eagle Eye, and The Tale of Despereaux. So I thought I’d dump them all into one post and compose a haiku review for each. The captions for some of them don’t count. Oh, and please feel free to add your own.

The Day the Earth Said “Whoa”
Wooden Keanu
Looking bored just reading lines
Gort more convincing

People die, cities burn, but the Crow Soundtrack is forever.
Post apocalypse
Our world burns to fiery ash
Perlman saves us all

Predictions of doom
Hidden in scribbled numbers
Remember, math kills

Comedic hamster
Steals every scene in trailer
Who cares about dog

Golden boy Shia
Runs from telemarketer
Terrible bordom

Tiny fearless mouse
Hitting on Emma Watson
Chicks can’t resist sword

Mutant Chronicles is such a bad name for a movie that looks so cool.

Check out the City of Ember - http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/cityofember/

Not sure how good it will be, but it looks promising.

I’m doing the writing a few days behind, so that this will post chronologically as it’s supposed to, but as this site seems to only generate traffic based on the most random of searches, no one seems to have noticed that I haven’t written anything new in a day or so. Always nice to feel like you’re doing something that people look forward to reading or will at least notice if you stop one day because you fucking die. I had convulsions when I found out Keanu was doing DTESS. Having seen the trailer, I’m still not impressed. I didn’t like him in/as Constantine, I’m thinking he ought to go on my “Do Not See” list, right up where with Tom “Fruiter Than Fruit Cake” Cruise.
