Animated G.I. Joe Movie Written By Warren Ellis!

“Ninja? I didn’t know we had a ninja.”

More spy footage.

I like the new style of animation. And I’m a big fan of everything Warren Ellis writes. This is a trailer for G.I. Joe Resolute, an animated feature written by Warren Ellis that, if this trailer is any indication, is full of the win. I like how the little Vipers are using P90s (I think those are P90s. My gunfu is weak) and are shooting bullets instead of harmless lasers. And everything is better with Snake Eyes. I am looking forward to this much more than the live action movie.

Hi. I read a few of your other posts and wanted to know if you would be interested in exchanging blogroll links?

    That was awesome! Haha.
Also, I don’t think those were P90’s (The P90 usually has the magazine on the top) but they were definitely AUG style rifles.

P-90’s are most easily identified by their (unmodified) blocky shape and relatively small size. They were essentially designed as smaller pistol/rifle weapons for breaching that are easy to store; with little kick they can actually be dual wielded by an average sized individual. Those rifles look too large and pointed to be P90’s.

And I’m so glad he uses that sword. I saw the new ninja turtles series and Leo never sliced anyone, just kicked or punched them.

That does look like it’d be pretty decent, though I’ve never been that big into GI Joe.

And yeah, I’m pretty sure those aren’t P90s. My gun-fu is virtually non-existent, but I’ve watched a lot of Stargate, and those don’t look like the same kind of gun.

They look more like a Steyr AUG with a shortened barrel, good catch on the bullpup design though, had to use a still of 0:52 to get a clean look.

Yeah, this has my attention. While not as familiar with G.I.Joe as many fans, I am a huge fan of the organization of mixed specialists theme. And I swear that Ruthless Terrorist Organization Determined to Rule the World (RTOD2RtW) should be used more often on CNN.

The animation style kind of reminds me of Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust, though it’s been a while since I watched it so I could be mistaken. I never was a big GI Joe fan either, but this may be worth seeing.

    eh looks kinda F2000ish http://world.guns.ru/assault/as41-e.htm
also made by FN so it has a similar shape to the P90.
really it’s probably nothing, but vaguely inspired by the F2000.
anyway yep Warren Ellis, I’m excited.

Ellis + Snake Eyes + real bullets and dying - Cobra-la can only = Win!

    Just sayin’.
