Cyborg Teen Titans Go!

It’s robot Wednesday! The year 2050 seems to be a big friggin deal. Not only will minorities be the majority in America, but according to Intel chief technology officer Justin Rattner, we will also be cyborgs! He said that Intel is already researching the man/machine interface:

The industry has taken much greater strides than anyone ever imagined 40 years ago. There is speculation that we may be approaching an inflection point where the rate of technology advancements is accelerating at an exponential rate, and machines could even overtake humans in their ability to reason, in the not so distant future.

Intel = Skynet! Oh noes! All your Macs are belong to Skynet!

I think if machines could reason a way to prevent war forever, that would be amazing. As long as it doesn’t include killing off all the fleshy ones. That would not be amazing. Boo robot take over. What I’d really like is some sort of brain tap that would let me dump all the crazy images in my brain box into some sort of image dump. God, making comics would go so much faster!

Mankind has already become cyborgs - pacemakers, C-Leg, implanted hearing aids, implanted birth control, Kevin Warwick’s experiment….

I think being able to dump images and thoughts onto a computer would be awesome. But Ghost in the Shell has taught me fear of hacking! o.o

Just make it one way. You’ll still have to learn everything the old fashioned way instead of matrix style, but you won’t have to worry about teh haxxors that much. But it will eventually become admissible in court and actual thought police will become a reality and thinking about things will get you arrested.

But in all honesty I don’t think a technocracy could be too much worse than our republic system. As long as we don’t name it Brainiac or Skynet we should be okay. Up until the point where the machines decide we’re too stupid to take care of ourselves (probably true) and there’s a big war for independence and what not.

Or the machines could be like Spider Robinson’s Solace…just saying, they don’t *have* think we’re utterly hopeless….

Wouldn’t art just be copy and paste program then? How cyborg we talking here?Couple of limbs or full blow brain it a robotic body thing?I do not understand why we’re going to make robots that can think and reason. If we have a robot that can think reason and every thing else that come with being human then wouldn’t making them do task we do not wish to do our selves just be slavery and then wouldn’t Robert Downey Jr. star in a movie with a robot body.umm wait.

Yah, that’s sort of how the Matrix started. People were using sapient robots like slaves and it sort of spiraled from there.
