“Bruce Campbell is the greatest actor of his generation!”

DAMN STRAIGHT!

Angry Zen Minion James-Paul sent along this trailer for Bruce Campbell’s latest masterpiece, My Name Is Bruce.

Pure. Fucking. Genius.

The man himself, Bruce Campbell, is taking the film on tour. He’ll be in Baltimore November 14 and Washington, D.C. November 15. If you can’t make it to a screening, it comes out on DVD January 2009. Can’t friggin wait!

Looks like someone threw the plot from Three Amigos! in the microwave and served it as leftovers. Plot FAIL!

Still, it looks hilarious and I totally want to see it! =)

…So wait, Bruce Campbell goes against the Chinese God of War in a United States town?

What, is the chainsaw going to say “Made in China” so that it breaks within two seconds of revving it up?

And even though there’s a thousand Asian actors that need work, they choose yellowface?

Sent to angryasianman.com. He’ll have a field day with this.

I saw this about six months ago during a film festival. They hadn’t yet mastered the soundtrack to perfection, so there were points where the speech and lip movements were a little off. It is, however, FREAKING CLASSIC! Not as awesome as Bubba Hotep (http://www.bubbahotep.com/) but Bruce was true to form and still top of his game.

The best part was the Q&A with Bruce afterwards.
In response to the question “Who would win in a fight: you or Raptor Jesus?” Bruce responded with “Why would you ask such a stupid question?”

Looks like fun. So, is this going straight to DVD with no theatrical release?

I think it’s getting a limited theatrical release, but it looks like it’ll do more business on DVD.

Just a real shame he’s not reprising his ‘aged Elvis’ role from Bubba Ho-Tep in Bubba Nosferatu, still can’t wait till I can get hold of My Name is Bruce in the UK though.
