NZ-666 Kshatriya

Though Bandai has released Master Grade kits for the Gundam Unicorn and the MSN-06S Sinanju, they aren’t moving fast enough for some fans. So Korean modeler “08team pia” took it upon himself to scratch build this 1/100 NZ-666 Kshatriya. That’s one gorgeous looking mobile suit! Man, Katoki Hajime’s designs look so damn good in real life. They should have hired him to design the Transformers for the movies.

If Unicorn does indeed get an anime, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before Bandai releases a Master Grade kit for this beasty. But if you can’t stand to wait, you can purchase a garage kit of the Kshatriya for 279,000 won which is about $223 USD.

The way I understand it, B-Club is the only “Official” company that has license to sell “official” garage kits, or resin kits. So this Korean group is unofficial, but I don’t think Bandai has any pull in Korea or Hong Kong for that matter. Anyway, I really hope we get some official MG kits of this guy because as amazing as it is, I just can’t plop $223 for models anymore.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Bandai *can’t* sell Gundam kits in South Korea. They have very strict censorship laws concerning goods and media from Japan. They sort of legislate continued friction (I mean really, they try to stop kids from reading manga and anime, but it gets pirated over there anyway. Why can’t their old folks realize the younger generation doesn’t feel like holding onto a 60-year-old grudge?)

I have three two PGs that all together probably cost me over $500, and I don’t think I’ll be able to spend that kind of money ever again on a Model Kit. But especially since this isn’t a PG.. Nope, really can’t.
