Pixar’s Up as Gran Torino

I thoroughly enjoyed Up. Gran Torino, not so much. But when you mix the two together, it’s freaking gold! This is one of the best trailer mashups I’ve seen in a while. It gives Up an emotional impact that’s unexpected. At some point, I’d really love to see Pixar tackle drama. The segment that depicted Carl and Elly growing old together was so powerful and touching that I really think Pixar could do a great full length 3D drama.

    Very nice dramatic 3D short.

    Also, I loved Gran Torino, I can relate to a lot of it in various ways.
    I have a jewish last name and I spent a couple years living next to an ex-nazi, he was a good guy, but the german nationalist sentiment came out occasionally it was interesting, I learned a bit about running an apple orchard from him.
