With my brother working in the video game industry, there’s bound to be a gaming nugget or two that interests me.

Gundam Musou 2 Gets Goufy!

Gundam Musou 2 Gouf
scan via SRW Hotnews

From this scan of a feature on Gundam Musou 2 in this week’s Famitsu magazine, it looks like you can play as one of my favorite Zion ace pilots, Ramba Ral! Getting to pilot his MS-07 Gouf would be more than enough to satisfy me. But if we also get to use his MS-05 Zaku I custom, oh man, I would never do anything else. Whereas most Zaku have a wussy little Heat Hawk, Ramba Ral’s Zaku I has a giant fucking axe! WIN! It also looks like you get to use the PMX-001 Palace Athene and the two version of the MSN-03 Jadg Doga. That’s just so much Gundam fanservice right there! In fact, this game should be called Gundam Fanservice Musou 2!

Capoeira Video Game Underwhelms

Friday, November 7th, 2008 at 10:21 am by Jami

So there’s this Capoeira game coming out in February 2009 and I feel I should be really excited. But after looking at this gameplay footage, I feel somewhat underwhelmed. I guess playing a game is not as fun as actually doing Capoeira. If I didn’t find rock climbing, I would have enrolled in Capoeira classes. Maybe I’ll still do it sometime. Who knows.

Anyway, this thing is coming out for PSP, PS2, DS, Wii, and PC which is why I think it looks kind of bleh. I mean, you should want to get off your ass and do the moves after seeing Capoeira! You know, that feeling you get after watching Chairman Dacascos in Only the Strong!

Gundam Musou 2 Extended Trailer

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 at 9:36 am by Jami

Ahhh… it’s like Gundam crack!

Gundam Musou 2 is scheduled to drop December 18 in Japan and first quarter of 2009 for the rest of us. Looks like all the suits and pilots from the first game are returning for this round. We get some new mobile suits, Nu Gundam, Sazabi, F91 with Seabook, Victory 2 with Uso, Strike Freedom along with Kira, Infinite Justice with Athrun, Destiny with Shinn, and Musha Gundam II who appeared in the PS2 version. We also get some new mobile armor, Psycho Gundam, Psycho Gundam Mark II, Quin Mantha, and Alpha Azieru. And we also see the Gyan, Devil Gundam, and Turn X in this extended trailer. I hope we get to unlock them somehow. I’ve always wanted to control a Devil Gundam Cell infected colony! MWAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

No Gundam Duberu Oh suits will appear in Musou 2. Also conspicuously absent are any 0080 or 0083 suits. Man, can you imagine how insanely badass the Dendrobium would be! Kampfer would be fun as well. And no sign of the Sentinel Gundams. Ah well. I can dream. I’ll still pick this up because I had so much fun with the first one.

Who Takes It? Who’s Gundam Reigns Supreme? It’s Gundam Vs. Gundam!

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 at 9:11 am by Jami

Wow. If Gundam Musou 2 wasn’t coming soon, I would totally buy a PSP just for this game. You heard me! Crazy things happen on Gundam Wednesday! As it is, I might just have to “borrow” my brother’s next time I visit him. I believe Gundam vs. Gundam was an arcade game before they brought it to PSP which just proves that Japan wins because one, they still have arcades; and two, those arcades are filled with GUNDAM!

My Brother On Stage At the TEC Awards 2008

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008 at 11:39 am by Jami

YAY! That’s my brother giving a thumbs up to the camera and taking a picture of the audience!

I also love that BLOSHOCK and BUNGLE were nominated. I’m glad that Bungie won and not Bungle because I don’t know how people would take this on stage:

Kitbash Airman From an MG Z’Gok

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008 at 9:01 am by Jami

It’s Gundam Wednesday here at AZM! Up next, we have a Master Grade Z’Gok kitbashed into Mega Man 2’s Airman complete with working fan. A kitbash is when you take parts from different model kits and combine them to form something awesome! I guess technically this is a custom build, not really a kit bash since the only model kit used is the Z’Gok. But kitbash sounds cool.

This makes me so unbelievably happy. It’s been ages since I assembled any gunpla. I was more of a HGUC fan myself, but I loved doing custom versions of standard kits. I made a Gene Simmons Gundam Sentinel assembled from the base 1/144 kit and an old Gene Simmons kit that I found at the local hobby shop. Someday, I’ll make an MG Gene Simmons Sentinel!

President Ackerman Says, “Vote For Me If You Want To Live!”

Tuesday, October 21st, 2008 at 11:45 am by Jami

President Ackerman

Angry Zen Minion Kevin Bahrt sent along this poster for the newest candidate to enter the presidential race, Howard T. Ackerman. Absolutely brilliant!

While I think this is a fun ad campaign that certainly piques my interest in Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, it almost seems like the game is actually a movie with bits of game in between. I realize that these days, it’s difficult to find a game with real replay value and that sexy cut scenes with sexy live action actors can often distract gamers from noticing that they’re playing a shitting awful game. Now I’m not saying that Red Alert 3 is a bad game. But from the game play footage and unit movies I’ve seen, it looks pretty much like your standard Command and Conquer game. Oh yes, I so very heart the giant robots from the Empire of the Sun. Those alone put this game on my maybe list. But what else does this RTS have to offer besides J.K. Simmons, George Takei, Jenny McCarthy, and Gina “Crush” Carano?

Spidey Vs. The Flood

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 at 10:24 am by Jami

Spider-Man Web of Shadows answers the question, what if the Venom symbiote multiplied, spread like the Flood, and took over an entire city? Wow. I love the symbiote versions of Wolverine and Black Cat. And you always win when you have Venom Ghidra. That’s just freaking awesome. You should probably just forget that you saw the third movie and replaced those memories with this game. The game drops October 21, just in time for Halloween.

Thanks to AZM Ally Kensei Dave for the link.

Red Alert 3 Has Giant Robot Samurai

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 at 10:05 am by Jami

AZM Ally Kensei Dave sent along the latest trailer for Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3. There are giant samurai robots! Yes, yes, yes, OH YES!

Lessons to be learned. One, don’t go back in time to try to manipulate history in your favor. Never works. Two, always put giant robot samurai in your game if you want Jami to purchase it. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle!

Bayonetta Gives New Meaning to “Boot to the Head”

Thursday, October 9th, 2008 at 9:25 am by Jami

Here’s an amazing teaser trailer for Bayonetta, a 3D actioner from the original creator of Devil May Cry, Hideki Kamiya. Think Dante with giant boobs. Seriously, check out this footage of Bayonetta shaking her ass.

Translation, “I thought it would be cool to have a main character who was like Dante but with giant boobs and a juicy badonk-a-donk. Oh, and sexy hawt glasses just for Richard Kim.”

If a majority of video game producers were women instead of men, would all gaming protagonists be sexy bishonen boys with enormous wangs? Would they spend money to develop sack jiggle physics? Would every hero run around shirtless with nothing but nut-huggies and combat boots?
