Wonder Woman Heads Back to the Amazon

It seems like Wondy just can’t catch a break. Warner Bros scuttled her big screen debut (they’re probably kicking themselves with Joss’s success on the Avengers flick) and the NBC reboot of the television series died before it even made it to air. Warner Bros and DC are hoping that a third time will be a charm so they’re sending Wonder Woman to the CW for a reboot called Amazon.

The show will focus on Diana’s early years before she became strapped on the red and gold bustier. That’s right, she’s getting the Smallville treatment.

Somebody SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE MEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Obama Facepalm

Unfortunately, this may actually work. Smallville kicked it for ten seasons and attracted a diverse audience that traditional Superman comics never reached. Amazon could have the same potential of broadening Wonder Woman’s appeal. I mean, who doesn’t love a teenage, angsty, origin story.

It’s in scripting form now. CW hasn’t ordered a pilot just yet so we don’t know who they’re considering for the role. I think Miracle Laurie would be a good choice. Her role on Dollhouse wasn’t exactly the best, but she pulled off the action scenes pretty well. It would probably best if they cast an unknown, though. Build some young talent.

Meh. Very mixed feelings. On the one hand, I think it’s high time Wonder Woman got something. I would have loved to have seen Joss Whedon’s take on the character, but that’s not going to happen. The NBC thing really sucked. But she deserves some proper screen time. On the other hand, I truly despise everything that’s on the CW. It is not an enjoyable channel to stop on.

More as it develops.

Pond Life, Part 5 is a Kick in the Gut

ALL MY FEELS!

I was not expecting such an emotional finale to the Pond Life shorts. Episode 5 is a real kick in the gut. Also notice Amy wearing a leather jacket. If you go back through Doctors Nine and Ten, Rose, Martha, and Dona all wear leather jackets in their last episodes.

Oh man, the build up was friggin great! They had me at Dalek porn, but I am absolutely on the hook for the Season 7!

Pond Life, Part 3

Very cute. I won’t spoil it. This one is pretty fan servicy. I mean, it’s all pretty much fan service done just for us Who fans, but this one in particular doesn’t serve much of a point other than to bring back a fan favorite for a cute cameo.

Oppa MEELO STYLE

Did you have any doubt that airbenders go Gangnam style?

It appears that the animators of The Legend of Korra are big fans of Psy! This little animation was done by Ryu Ki-Hyun who is a supervising producer for Nickelodeon!

I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!!

Pond Life, Part 2

“We have a rule about the bedroom!”

The Doctor is the worst driver in the universe and it seems that future Doctor is just as bad. Also, not that this is any surprise to anyone really, but the Doctor appears to have personal space issues.

Pond Life, Part 1

Everyday this week, BBC will be posting “Pond Life,” a little mini web series giving us a little peek into the life of the Ponds between Season 6 and Season 7. I expect this is going to be a lot of fan service, but who cares. It’s more Doctor!

Daleks, Daleks, Everywhere!

Parliament of the Daleks?! Asylum of the Daleks?!! PREDATOR OF THE DALEKS?!?!??!!?!

Holy fuck balls, Doctor Who series 7 is going to start off with a giant Dalekgasm! I can’t help but start speculating. So we hear one of the Daleks say that “the Predator of the Daleks will be deployed.” Could this be a new Predator class Dalek? But then we have the Doctor saying, “I’m not a Predator.” GAH! So many wibbly wobbly things it could mean. The obvious answer is that, of course, the Doctor is the Predator of our favorite plunger buddies. But I rather think there’s something more to it. I never expect the obvious with Doctor Who so I’m expecting a lot of twists this season. Can’t wait!!
